The meter, worked out.
Membership includes 2.5 GB of transfer a month, roughly 8 routine CTs, 12 MRIs, or 125 X-rays, then a published $0.25 per GB. The meter reads channel data only; Console access and monitoring never count toward transfer. Three real months at the planned launch pricing:

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The full Console (read/write), Gateway remote access to your own servers, monitoring, alerts and the in-browser DICOM viewer are free. You only pay to join the network, to find partners and exchange data with other organizations.
Initiating sharing agreements with partners you find in the Contact Directory, and exchanging data directly with any organization, plus a 2.5 GB monthly transfer allowance. Console itself doesn’t change; membership is about the network.
Yes, a free member can exchange with any paid member. Every connection just needs at least one paid party. Free members can browse the directory, accept, and receive; initiating agreements requires a membership. So a hospital can stay free and still trade with a paid hub or integrator.
Membership includes 2.5 GB of transfer a month. Beyond it, overage is billed at a published rate of $0.25 per GB, priced to cover relay and server costs, not run as a profit center. Even a busy imaging site stays predictable: 500 studies a month is roughly 150 GB, about $37 in overage on top of the flat membership.
Each Mirth Connect or OIE server running the OpenShare plugin counts as one server. Membership is priced per server, per month. The free tier covers the servers you need to get started; additional servers come with a paid tier, or reach out for a custom enterprise plan.
BAAs are available on Enterprise. Either way, OpenShare never sees your PHI, connections are end-to-end encrypted and our relay can’t decrypt them. A server-side PHI-free mode can keep PHI from leaving your server at all.
We haven’t set an end date. When paid network tiers launch, we’ll announce it in advance, and your free infrastructure features stay free.
Cloud networks like PowerShare and Ambra price per study (per published agreements) and copy your data into their cloud. OpenShare exchanges data directly between organizations, no per-study fees, no cloud copy, data stays on your infrastructure. A flat membership replaces per-transaction billing.
